
Thang Nguyen is the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), currently practices as a Board Certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
With more than 15 years of practice in the psychiatric mental health field, Thang has worked in different settings, from acute hospital inpatient to fast-paced psychiatric emergency room, from outpatient clinic to quality assurance for the mental health service. Thang has served multiple clients with diverse acute and chronic mental health disturbances. To Thang, these mental health conditions could be caused and aggravated by different biological and psychosocial factors. Thang actively listens to clients and collaboratively works with them to establish effective treatment plans for each individual. They include but are not limited to medication management and other forms of psychotherapy to control clients’ psychiatric symptoms and eventually keep them recover from these disturbing symptoms. Since recovery is an ultimate goal, Thang has a strong desire to serve clients to not only enhance their quality of life but also sustain their academic and occupational achievements.

Graduated from Brandman University/Chapman University System, Thang has achieved his Doctorate Degree of Nursing Practice with solid knowledge and experience to apply and utilize evidence-based practice in patient care and treatment. Furthermore, as an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Thang had opportunities to be trained in different clinical settings, from general family practice service to psychiatric care in outpatient clinics. Impressed with the effective integration of psychiatric and medical care, Thang always incorporates this model into his practice. Thang has experience in identifying psychiatric conditions that may be caused or aggravated by common medical problems to ensure prompt consultation and referral for his clients to the primary care.

For the last but not least, Thang also values health promotion and incorporates it into his treatment plan. Thang encourages clients to maintain regular exercise, take adequate rest, eat healthy foods, and reduce daily stress. Thang believes these activities will contribute an important part in promoting mental health.
